Singer-songwriter John Denver touched millions of people, and achieved superstar status with his folk-based pop songs most of which were based in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born Henry John Germandorf in Roswell located in the state of New Mexico, fell in Love with Colorado. He settled in Aspen. Denver's state anthems inspired many to visit Colorado. G. Brown of Colorado Music Hall of Fame, the curator of this hall of fame, stated: "I don't believe there is another performer that embodies Colorado in the same way as John Denver." In the year 2011, Denver was named the first Hall of Fame inductee. Today he personifies the state for people worldwide. Brown declared. Denver's debut Top 10 hit as a solo artist after a short period of performing with small folk bands was Take Me Home Country Roads written by Bill Danoff.
