Maggie Grace, born Margaret Grace Denig on 21 September, 1983 in Worthington Ohio, is an American actress. She is famous for her roles as Shannon Rutherford and Kim Mills and Kim Mills on ABC's Lost TV show. Following the divorce of her parents, she left Worthington Ohio in order to settle in Los Angeles. As she struggled financially, she was able to land her first acting gig as the title character in the web-based video series Rachel's Room in 2001. In 2002 she was nominated to receive an Young Artist Award with her part as the 15-year-old murder victim Martha Moxley. In 2004 Grace was chosen to play Shannon Rutherford in the television show Lost where she acted as a principal cast member for the first two seasons, and was awarded an Screen Actors Guild Award shared by the entire cast. Grace was forced to quit the show in order to focus on her film career. She had starred alongside Tom Welling opposite in The Fog in 2005. The actress has also appeared as Kim Mills in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club both in 2007 and Taken alongside Liam Neeson in 2008 as Kim Mills. Taken 2 (2012), Taken 3 2014 and Taken 4 (2014) are her re-casts of these role. Grace reprised the role of Shannon in two more episodes of Lost which included the finale of the series. The year was 2013, and she was a guest in the sixth season of Californication. She plays Faith who is both a star-gazer and the girl in the group. Hank Moody, played by David Duchovny, falls for her. She's the child of Stephen Gyllenhaal (director) and Naomi Achs (producer), as well as younger in age than Jake Gyllenhaal. In her teens, she began to work on small roles with her father. She was also in Donnie Darko with her sister. The next film she appeared in was Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind which was released in 2002 as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal has received critical praise for her lead performances in Secretary (2002 the erotic romance drama), and Sherrybaby (606) Both of which garnered the actress Golden Globe Award nods. Following that, she starred in comedies and dramas: Nanny McPhee & the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011, and Won't Back Down 2012. Some of her other characters include as a secret agent for Secret Service in White House Down 2013, as a singer for Secret Service in White House Down 2013. She also appeared as a vocalist in Frank 2014, and as a singer in The Kindergarten Teacher 2018, where she is the lead role. Gyllenhaal composed and directed her first film, The Lost Daughter in 2021. The thriller that dealt with psychological issues was awarded the Best Screenplay Award from the Venice International Film Festival. The film was also nominated for be awarded the Academy Award of Best Adapted Screenplay.
